This presentation provides a basic and brief overview on different methods used for thin film preparations (thickness from nanometers to micrometers), their advantages and disadvantages. Preparation methods include Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Spin Coating. Further in the presentation different characterisation methods (AFM, Reflectivity, FTIR) to determine thin film morphology and compositions are discussed.
