Professor Sankar Bhattacharya is Deputy Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Monash University. His research includes advanced coal and biomass utilisation for power and fuels production through gasification and combustion, and the production of biofuels utilising biomass and algae. As part of the Bioprocessing Advanced Manufacturing Initiative (BAMI) Sankar is Chief Investigator on Project 9: Biomass gasification for energy and chemicals.
